Vols Football

The Vols debut at No. 13 in the College Football Playoff rankings, well behind Alabama

If you're a Vols fan, the first rankings sting a little. The committee slotted Tennessee (6-2) 13th, behind No. 1 Miami (8-0) and No. 2 Georgia (7-1). Alabama (6-2) is No. 5, even though Tennessee beat the Tide 26-10 on Oct. 17.

Committee chair Hunter Yurachek said Alabama's stronger schedule and quality wins outweighed the head-to-head result. He said the Tide also get credit for a win over Mississippi State. "You have to be in the same pod to be compared head to head," he said.

Fall color

Middle Tennessee's fall colors have been vivid despite the extreme drought. WSMV credits two weeks of chilly nights, in the 30s or 40s, from Oct. 16 through Oct. 30. WSMV

Just curious what people do in this case: senior citizen here....

“I need dental work and I have insurance.....however after insurance I will still have over $1000 out of pocket. That's just for 2 of the 4 procedures I need. Since the only income I have is SS there is no way that I can afford that. Also might add that I am terrified of going to a dentist so going to a dental school…”
