EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The new Career Technical Education Manufacturing Building at Creek Wood High School is nearing completion and will cost $4 million—covering 7,200 square feet to train students in construction and welding while adding a concession stand and outside restrooms to support the soccer playing field. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office announced its Citizens Academy will run for seven weeks next year from January 27, 2026 through March 14, 2026 to offer local residents hands-on learning about investigations, jail operations, traffic crash reconstruction, K9 work, internal affairs and active threat response (classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.). Interested residents are encouraged to register soon as spots are limited. Sumner County Source
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ JPII basketball coach Charles Wade celebrated college signees Trey Pearson and Osby Cavin after Pearson wrote a letter urging more accountability following a season with a 14-15 record and an 11-game losing streak. Both players signed to continue their college careers and are expected to help guide the team as they prepare for their senior year. Hendersonville Standard
