CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Rose Mont was chosen by the Tennessee State Museum for a Capital Maintenance and Improvements Grant for the 2025–2026 cycle—grant funds will support major preservation work at the historic site. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Sunday, November 16, TDOT will begin nightly lane closures on I-65 and US-31W in Sumner County to install steel beams for a new I-65 bridge from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until December 4—detour signage will guide motorists during these closures. Sumner County Source
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Between Sept. 4th and 11th, 2025, multiple property sales were completed in Sumner County, including transactions in Bethpage, Castalian Springs, Gallatin, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Portland, Westmoreland, and White House. The deals ranged from about $85,000 to over $1.3 million—marking a busy week in the local real estate market. Hendersonville Standard
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Beech won a 33-30 playoff game over Munford and will play Page in the state quarterfinals; quarterback Kaden Powell scored two rushing touchdowns—coach Anthony Crabtree praised key defensive stops that helped secure the win. - ➤ Last Friday, the Hawks beat Science Hill 35 to 28 when quarterback Kannon Burroughs scored a 31‐yard touchdown run that gave Green Hill its second state quarterfinal appearance—he briefly became the school’s career rushing leader and the team will face Oakland on Friday. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Station Camp runner Brynn Balturshot signed with Syracuse to join their cross country and track teams. She became the eighth Bison student to sign with a Power Four program and chose Syracuse for its strong academics and distance focus — her coach praised her as one of the hardest workers around. - ➤ Providence Christian Academy rallied from a 15-point deficit on Friday night to beat Friendship Christian 41-40 in double overtime. Running back Porter Dedman scored two crucial touchdowns—sending PCA to face University School of Jackson in the DII-A semifinals on November 21. Hendersonville Standard
