- ➤ This weekend, five events in Sumner County will kick off the holiday season as Yuletide at The Station offers live music today from 6 to 9 plus other events on November 15 feature a food pantry, a Christmas market, a retail open house and a fundraising market for Night to Shine. - ➤ Hendersonville native Roy Gifford, who played football at MTSU, was recognized as a game-changer in the new Who’s Who in Black Cleveland publication. He is a first-generation college student who earned his BBA at MTSU — he later received a master’s degree from Ohio University and an MBA in marketing. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Bluegrass Dentistry and Gospel Movement Church reopened their doors after relocating—due to damage from a December 2023 tornado that hit Main Street—in Hendersonville. Bluegrass Dentistry resumed service on Oct. 13 at 623 East Main Street while the church held its grand opening at 90 Volunteer Drive on Nov. 2. Hendersonville Standard
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ 15-year-old country artist Maddox Batson will headline The Pinnacle on May 3 as part of his 46-show world tour that reflects his beginnings on TikTok Live. The tour will donate $1 from every North American ticket sale to Music Will to support music education. Sumner County Source
- ➤ Airborne Army veteran Don Olea spent more than two months painting large murals on the walls of American Legion Post 45 in Greenbrier—showing military history from World War I to today. The project, part of a veterans program with the Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center, was celebrated during a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 10. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ The Sumner County Library Board did not pass the controversial book policy at its October 30 special-called meeting because the vote ended in a tie. Supporters and opponents made their positions clear (with many public comments), and the policy may be brought back in a later meeting. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ The City of Hendersonville announced several new job openings in departments including Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Public Safety. Residents can view job descriptions and requirements on the city's online portal — a new opportunity to serve the community. Sumner County Source

- ➤ Karen is a 2-year-old mixed breed dog weighing 26 pounds and is house trained, spayed, and current on vaccinations (adoption fee $250) while George is a 3-year-old domestic short hair cat weighing 15 pounds, house trained, neutered, and current on vaccinations (adoption fee $125). - ➤ Green Hill junior wide receiver and defensive back Will Butler was voted Main Street Preps Football Player of the Week after earning 62% of the fan vote for his performance on November 6th—he registered 12 tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a 27-yard touchdown in the Hawks’ 42-14 playoff win over Smyrna.
