ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Tennessee fell by seven cents last week to $2.61, which is 12 cents less than one month ago and 18 cents less than one year ago. Megan Cooper of AAA said fall weather is in full swing and prices may continue to drop—helping drivers pay less at the pump. Hendersonville Standard
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sumner County Schools is hosting open house events for Middle College High School on November 3 at 6 p.m. in Gallatin and for Middle Technical College High School on November 6 at 6 p.m. at TCAT Portland Campus to explain Enhanced Option programs that let students earn college credit while finishing high school. Program principals visited Beech High School on October 27, are visiting Westmoreland High today, and will visit Portland and Liberty Creek High Schools on October 29 as well as Hendersonville and Gallatin High Schools on October 30. - ➤ On October 25, Tennessee beat Kentucky 56—34 at Kroger Field as it improved to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Quarterback Joey Aguilar passed for 396 yards and three touchdowns—helping secure the win while running backs and receivers made key plays before 60,153 fans. Sumner County Source
