  • Hendersonville native Larry Underwood, known as Dr. Gangrene, has spent 26 years hosting his TV horror show that airs at 9 p.m. Saturdays on NECAT and Roku—mixing funny and scary moments—and he was recently honored in the Rondo Award Monster Kid Hall of Fame for his work.  Hendersonville Standard

SPORTS NEWS

  • On October 23, the Predators beat the Canucks 2-1 at Bridgestone Arena as Juuse Saros stopped 21 of 22 shots — boosting Nashville’s record to 3-3-2 while Vancouver fell to 4-4-0. Ryan O’Reilly scored a shorthanded goal and Cole Smith added the winner — a result from a game marked by penalties and tight defense.  Sumner County Source
  • Valor College Prep won its second straight TSSAA Class AA volleyball championship by sweeping Dyer County 3 to 0 at MTSU’s Murphy Center on Friday—making it the first Midstate team to complete a tournament sweep since 2015. The Wildcats, who ended the season with 30 wins and 3 losses, now plan to chase a third consecutive title next season.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Hendersonville's Tate Rumney was voted as Week 9 Main Street Preps Football Player of the Week after he rushed for over 300 yards to help his team win 37-36 in overtime against Station Camp on Oct. 17—he earned 70% of the fan vote, beating out Josh Kidd and Caden Stroud.  Hendersonville Standard
