- ➤ Ascend Federal Credit Union donated $17,500 this year to support Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee programs like summer camp financial aid, new leader jumpstart resources, and an annual luncheon. The credit union also offers free K-12 financial lessons — and has planted native trees with local troops to back youth programs. Sumner County Source
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eligible Tennessee families with a child age 14 or younger who meet income requirements can receive an extra $1,500 credit when they open a TNStars College Savings 529 account under the TIPS program. The Tennessee Department of Treasury is accepting applications until June 30, 2026. Sumner County Source
- ➤ The City of Hendersonville will host a dedication ceremony Tuesday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park—naming the bridge over Drakes Creek after The Oak Ridge Boys to honor their lasting impact on our community, following legislative approval. Sumner County Source
