GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hendersonville Fire Chief Scotty Bush has 349 unused vacation hours worth $38,100, and the Board passed an ordinance that requires him to use the extra hours by Dec. 31 while any remaining time after Jan. 1 will convert to sick leave — a change following agreements with Mayor Jamie Clary to align with city policy. The measure comes after years of Bush carrying over extra hours due to staffing shortages and equipment needs.  Hendersonville Standard
