- ➤ Family, friends, and community members will honor Nick Swindle today by donating blood at Bethpage Community Church—3140 US-31E, with donations accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The drive honors his legacy as a leader and volunteer. Sumner County Source
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The YMCA of Middle Tennessee marked 25 years of its After Breast Cancer program that offers a free 16-week course to help survivors rebuild strength + energy after treatment. More than 6,000 survivors have joined over the years and nearly 90 are enrolled this fall, with an anniversary t-shirt on sale until Oct. 31 to support the Annual Giving Campaign. - ➤ Tennessee United Soccer Club will host Eagle Sports Southaven FC on Oct. 12 at Station Camp High School at 7 p.m. for a second-round qualifier for the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The club said local youth players and veterans are eager to play and invited Sumner County fans to attend. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Week 7 of high school football ended with final scores reported by TSSAA from teams in Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson, and Williamson counties—details show matchups and scores for each game. Sumner County Source
- ➤ Friendship Christian School beat Donelson Christian Academy 37-7 on Friday at Pirtle Field as three turnovers in the first half led to two touchdowns in 29 seconds. The strong defense boosted the team's regional standing while DCA ended its winning streak. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Running back Rawls Patterson led CPA to a 16-15 win over MBA on Friday, October 3—scoring two touchdowns including a 28-yard game-winning run on the goal line.
