- ➤ Hendersonville residents can hunt deer safely from their backyards under a new city—TWRA program that aims to control a deer population reaching two to four times the state average. - ➤ Friendship Christian junior catcher Khloe Smith committed to play softball at Campbell University after she announced her decision Tuesday on her X account (she thanked her coaches, family, and friends for their support). - ➤ An 11-year-old student from Portland West Middle School is in critical condition after she attempted suicide on Sept. 29 following alleged bullying. Family and community members have raised support through bracelet sales—while school officials and the Sheriff's Office investigate the bullying claims and review anti-bullying policies.
