ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices fell by four cents across Tennessee last week, and the average now stands at $2.73—five cents lower than one month ago and three cents lower than one year ago. AAA attributed the drop to cheaper winter-blend gasoline and a seasonal decline in demand.  Hendersonville Standard

  • Blaine offered his Week 7 football predictions for Sumner County, noting that teams like the Hendersonville Commandos and Gallatin Green Wave will play amid key injuries and recent win trends — his score picks and game insights aim to shape the playoff picture as the season nears its close.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Today, Play It Again Sports from Brentwood and Hendersonville launched a 15% off sale on lacrosse gear—such as sticks, helmets, and goalie equipment—to help players prepare for the season. The sale runs throughout October and offers both new and gently used options for lacrosse players of all ages.  Sumner County Source
  • Station Camp won the Sumner County cross country championships on Sept. 23 at Welch College — Brynn Balturshot finished first in the girls race with a time of 18:52.63 and Caden Costello led the boys race in 16:14, giving the team an 8-point win over Liberty Creek.  Hendersonville Standard
