COMMUNITY NEWS

  • At Nashville Superspeedway, Krazy Paint raised over $63,000 for Speedway Children’s Charities during the Triple Crown of Rodding event—money that will help improve the lives of children in Middle Tennessee.  Sumner County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Tennessee Titans will be without right tackle JC Latham and defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat when they face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Nissan Stadium—Latham is battling a hip injury and Sweat is working through an ankle injury. Five other players are questionable as backup options get ready to step in.  Hendersonville Standard
  • At Pirtle Field on Friday, Friendship Christian beat Clarksville Academy 42-26 in the Division II-A Middle Region opener, as quarterback Blake Waldorf passed for 310 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more in the fourth quarter—fueling the win. Freshman Ryder Wolcott also contributed two short touchdown runs, and Coach John McNeal said the team will face its next region road game next Friday.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Green Hill quarterback Kannon Burroughs led his team to a 46 to 13 win over Gallatin with 372 yards and five touchdowns on the field. He hosted weekly sessions called Kannon’s Corner—designed to build trust and grow his leadership ahead of future games.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Roman Josi, captain of the Nashville Predators, was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome — a condition that causes a rapid heart rate upon standing — last season after he experienced dizziness and fatigue from a hit on Feb. 25, and he adjusted his treatment plan and routines to return as a full contributor at training camp.  Hendersonville Standard
  • TSSAA released Week 5 football scores for middle Tennessee high school games on Sept 19 with some contests played on Thursday—scores come from ten counties including Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson. The results show a range of wins and margins as teams progress through the season.  Sumner County Source
