- ➤ Throughout September, the trustee's office will hold enrollment sessions at city halls across Sumner County to help seniors sign up for the Tax Freeze Program — which locks in tax bills for qualifying incomes of $47,370 or less. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Sumner County health officials published inspection scores (August 12 to 27) for food service and child care facilities including schools and restaurants in Hendersonville. Food establishments must display their most recent inspection report (for public view) as required by county regulations. Sumner County Source

- ➤ Middle Tennessee high school football teams will compete in week two of the season with most games scheduled for Friday, Aug 29—TSSAA released a full schedule featuring matchups from ten counties including local teams in games like Smyrna at Hendersonville. Sumner County Source
- ➤ Creek Wood High School lost to Forrest 43-36 in a season opening shootout as Quincy Mitchell ran for 389 yards & four touchdowns to power Forrest's win. The Red Hawks nearly tied the game late and will next face Lawson on the road to rebound. Hendersonville Standard
