  • On July 28, the Sumner County Commission approved the amended 2025-26 budget at a meeting that ended after midnight+ the budget funds schools, accessible playground improvements, emergency services and volunteer fire departments, and it passed by a 15-8 vote.  Hendersonville Standard

SPORTS NEWS

  • On July 27, K’Saun Barksdale announced he was leaving Davidson Academy to return home to Gallatin and play football with his family and longtime friends. He faces a new challenge as he must learn a new playbook and timing—tasks that need fast adjustment—to be ready for classes starting on August 4.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Green Hill senior Chezney Whipker committed to play softball at Western Kentucky University after official visits and summer camp showings, plus she batted .406 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs this spring and became the second Green Hill athlete to earn a Division I scholarship this week.  Hendersonville Standard
