Good morning, Hendersonville.

The Sumner County School Board approved a nearly $424 million budget for the upcoming school year, but the county commission withheld approval so the district operates under last year's spending limits.

Commissioners will review the budget on July 21 to address rising costs.

A Moderate Flood Watch is in effect in Sumner County and across Middle Tennessee from 6:00 p.m. today to Sunday evening due to heavy rain and saturated soils (up to 3 to 4 inches of additional rain is expected), urging residents to be cautious of possible floods in low-lying areas.

TDCI and SFMO are urging residents to follow fire safety tips as summer unfolds, advising everyone to test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (via the Get Alarmed, Tennessee program) and set up a fire escape plan to help prevent home fires.
