- ➤ Volunteers in Sumner County preserved over 10,000 glass plate negatives from the early 1900s—each negative was carefully cleaned, indexed, and saved by the county archives to capture its past. It remains the final race of the IndyCar season and will crown the champion on FOX Sports while featuring local driver Hendersonville's Josef Newgarden (a two-time Indy 500 winner). - ➤ Pleasant View Athletic Association celebrated state softball championships as the 15U team won four games—outscoring opponents 62—3—and the 12U team claimed its title with a 14—0 win over Springfield.
