COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Later this month, Memorial Park will get kayak rentals from Broken Paddle Outfitters after nearly two years of planning with city officials — the new service will offer half-day and hourly options while parking remains a local concern.  Hendersonville Standard

CRIME NEWS

  • On June 2, 2025, Hendersonville Police received reports of vehicle burglaries at the YMCA and Texas Roadhouse that connected to similar incidents at Vol State Community College — officers arrested Chad Hayes from Lebanon on two counts of vehicle burglary and one count of theft of property, with extra charges expected.  Sumner County Source
  • The Hendersonville Police Department warned residents this summer that unlicensed drivers are riding golf carts dangerously near the community center—raising concerns about road safety—and urged drivers to follow legal rules—helping prevent potential fines.  Hendersonville Standard

CULTURE NEWS

  • Promise Land Music & Arts Festival will be held Saturday, June 7 at Promise Land Historic Site from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., where attendees can enjoy live music, art, food, crafts, and family activities— including the Parade of Hats for Healthy Hearts at noon—. The event will also feature the Lafayette Exhibition and live art by Omari Booker.  Hendersonville Standard

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hendersonville leaders deferred a vote at the May 27 meeting to review relocating the post office at 105 Imperial Blvd, where it has been since the 1970s. City officials say a new location may serve the 37066 area better+ they are considering either a satellite post office in the east or a move to West Main to support local business traffic.  Hendersonville Standard

  • The Titans signed running back Tyrion Davis-Price and released Micah Bernard; Davis-Price played at LSU and had NFL experience with the 49ers and Eagles + he now joins a roster including Tony Pollard and others to boost the team's running game.  Sumner County Source
