- ➤ The YMCA of Middle Tennessee invested in AngelEye, a high-tech water safety system for indoor pools that alerts lifeguards to swimmers in distress. It was installed at centers in Sumner, Franklin and Robertson counties last month + is undergoing a 30-day testing period before full integration. Sumner County Source
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TDOT began shifting southbound traffic on I-65 from mile marker 96 to 99 on June 1, and contractors worked over two nights to adjust barrier rails, install signage, and stripe lanes as part of the Phase 3 widening project. Sumner County Source
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Beech has named assistant coach Colby Rainey as head baseball coach, replacing Kris McWhirter, according to Principal Kenneth Powell. Rainey (helping the team to four district championships and three region titles since joining in 2023) is set to lead the team in upcoming seasons. Hendersonville Standard
