  • Hendersonville Parks and Rec launched online reservations for pickleball courts at Veterans Park, where courts 1-4 can be booked daily for up to two hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.) at $5 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Reservations must be made 7 to 21 days in advance.  Sumner County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • City Gate Church is hosting a free community event with live music and food on Sunday, May 31 in Hendersonville. Avenue Church and Ministries will present Presence Music and Avenue in a casual, Christ-centered atmosphere — donations are welcome.  Sumner County Source
  • HHS Golden Girl Nayliana Taylor signed with University of Kentucky Dance Team on Monday, May 11 (after 14 years at American Academy of Dance and two years at Dance Mania Nashville) and previously danced with the Ellis Cougar Dance Team and as co-captain on the HHS Golden Girls.  Hendersonville Standard

  • The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance and the State Fire Marshal’s Office advised water recreators to review marina inspection statuses and follow safety tips to prevent electric shock drowning ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Boaters are urged to test equipment and maintain safe distances from docks.  Sumner County Source
