- ➤ Wilson County Schools has chosen longtime employee Travis Mayfield as its next director effective July 1 as he replaces retiring Jeff Luttrell; the board also approved a $281.6 million budget for the 2026 — 2027 fiscal year, using fund balance reserves to cover deficits in the cafeteria and extended school program funds. - ➤ Liberty Creek softball withstood Alcoa in a three-hour state championship rematch during the tournament's first round on Tuesday, May 19, showcasing its skill and perseverance. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Pearl-Cohn and Station Camp girls track teams won the TSSAA Class A and AA championships Tuesday — a win that adds to their strong local legacy. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Friendship Christian won a run-rule game against Boyd Buchanan at McKnight Park on Tuesday thanks to eighth-grader Haivyn Boone’s two-run single that sparked an eight-run inning.
