- ➤ Missy Acosta accepted the Girl Scouts Outstanding Partner Award on behalf of Delta Dental a couple weeks ago to honor girls who showed leadership in projects benefiting local parks and schools. The event urged local professionals to mentor Girl Scouts by joining troop meetings (supporting badge programs). Hendersonville Standard
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Hendersonville Commandos beat Beech 1-0 in the Region 6-AAA championship as junior Davin Eckenroth headed the winning goal and other young players stepped in after senior Myles Bertotti was injured. The team now earns a chance to play at home in Murfreesboro today. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Green Hill lost to Lincoln County 16-11 in a Class 4A sectional game on Friday night at The Hill. The defeat ended Green Hill's push for a fourth state tournament appearance as Lincoln County surged with a late-inning offensive burst. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Former ECS coach Blake Butler was named JPII's offensive coordinator and associate athletic director on Thursday; he previously coached at ECS (and Trinity Christian) and is known for building championship cultures that blend strong relationships with accountability. Hendersonville Standard
