CULTURE NEWS

  • TailGate Brewery in Hendersonville will host its free Boozy Book Fair by the Lake on Saturday, May 3 from 5 p.m. until closing time — guests can chat with authors and browse signed books across genres such as family saga, poetry, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and steampunk.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Hendersonville Arts Festival Presented by U.S. Bank will return to Sanders Ferry Park on May 10 and May 11—this free event will showcase local and national artists and celebrate creativity for families.  Hendersonville Standard

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hendersonville High School held a mock crash simulation to warn students about impaired and distracted driving ahead of prom and graduation—trauma professionals, emergency responders, and a local mother who lost her son explained that one split-second decision can change a life forever. The exercise brought together experts from local hospitals, the police department, EMS, and fire services for a realistic demonstration.  Sumner County Source

  • Hendersonville Mayor Jamie Clary said kids now join the Mayor for the Moment initiative after a Boy Scout troop visited a Board meeting about a year ago—this program gives them a hands-on look at city government roles.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Ashley’s Place thanked the 114th General Assembly for passing new funding to strengthen child abuse prevention and said the local child advocacy center (Sumner Child Advocacy Center) will benefit during Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Hendersonville Standard

  • Between Feb. 27 and March 5, 2025, many property sales took place in Sumner County with several transactions in Hendersonville. Prices ranged from about $300,000 to over $1 million and involved both private owners and home builders.  Hendersonville Standard

  • Liberty Creek beat Green Hill 21-5 in a late regular season softball game on Wednesday night — the team jumped out early and kept a strong lead — and both teams finished district play undefeated as they now prepare for the postseason.  Hendersonville Standard
