HEALTH NEWS

  • A Vanderbilt children’s health poll found that 85% of Tennessee parents said their children had or would receive all recommended immunizations and 80% backed a basic set for school attendance (surveyed in fall 2025). Most parents trusted their child’s doctor more than other sources.  Hendersonville Standard

SPORTS NEWS

  • Portland has hired twice-retired state champion Scott Hunt as its new baseball coach, who will succeed interim coach Scott Steinbrecher next spring after a near yearlong search; Hunt has coached local schools (Beech and Greenbrier) and holds strong community ties.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Mike Mascari, longtime Father Ryan baseball coach, announced his retirement after 18 seasons with over 250 wins and a Division II-AA state tournament appearance in 2019. His departure marks the end of his leadership with the team.  Hendersonville Standard
