EDUCATION NEWS

  • Beech High School experienced high temperatures on Friday when extra temporary HVAC units were added after an ice storm damaged the main system. Sumner County Schools will begin installing replacement parts on Monday, Apr. 20 — work is expected to finish Friday.  Hendersonville Standard

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • AT&T is inviting locals to drop off old electronics at its Indian Lake Store in Hendersonville as part of its electronics recycling drive during Earth Month; for every 10 pounds collected, a laptop will be donated to a family in need.  Sumner County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hendersonville city officials remind residents to follow yard sale sign rules as warmer weather begins the season. Signs must be placed 12 feet from the pavement — property owner permission is required and signs must be removed after sales.  Sumner County Source
