- ➤ A Gallatin man has been charged with reckless homicide for the February shooting death of 19-year-old Austin Dill when Trevor Ethan Choate, 20, was arrested on March 31 and booked into Sumner County Jail (on a $200,000 bond) after the incident on Founders Lane in Portland and will appear in court on April 15. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sumner County 4-H is preparing for its summer camps with Junior Camp for grades 4—6 set for June 9—13 at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville and Junior High Camp for grades 6—8 scheduled for May 26—30. Registration will begin Monday, April 28 at 7 a.m. at the Sumner County Extension office at 658 Hartsville Pike in Gallatin, and additional specialty camps with volunteer opportunities will be available. - ➤ Hendersonville’s young soccer player Cesar Soucre (8) joined the local high school team in November after leaving the Nashville SC Academy and passing a tryout with coach Alex Tummons; he recorded four goals and two assists in the first eight games and said he is excited to play for his hometown team again.
