EDUCATION NEWS

  • Residents of Hendersonville can now try the Puzzle Center's daily brain teasers that include crosswords, sudoku, and word searches. New puzzles are added every day + they offer a fun way to keep your mind active during short breaks or longer sessions.  Sumner County Source
  • Seven Portland High School students completed the Corrections Officer Certification Course by the Sumner County Sheriff's Office on March 20 in a ceremony at their school. They will begin working for the department after their graduation in May.  Hendersonville Standard

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tuesday, Gallatin’s soccer team ended its delayed home opener in a 2-2 draw after Merrol Hyde senior Kieran Stamm scored twice—including a last-minute equalizer. The match was played at the field set up near the track stadium construction (extra seating helped accommodate fans).  Hendersonville Standard
  • Former East Robertson coach Chase Brooks has joined Liberty Creek as an assistant coach, confirmed Tuesday by Bill Alexander. He will coach inside linebackers and serve as Director of College Recruiting while reuniting with his family at the school.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Predators backup goalie Justus Annunen has made strong saves and kept low goals-against averages during key games since the Olympic break. The 26-year-old, who signed a two-year contract in January, remains a trusted option when Juuse Saros is unavailable.  Hendersonville Standard
