  • Two years after filming in Middle Tennessee, Nicole Kidman's thriller Holland will debut on Amazon Prime Video on March 27. The film was shot in local cities like Nashville—adding regional flavor to this murder-mystery plot.  Sumner County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On March 6, a large crowd attended the ribbon cutting for the renovated Teen Center at the Hendersonville Public Library on Saundersville Road. Library staff said the expanded space—built in three months with community help—will give teens a safe place to read, learn, and make friends.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Sumner County Schools launched the #SumnerGivesBack initiative to help students build beds for peers in need. Funded by Hendersonville Evening Rotary, students from Westmoreland High, Beech High and Gallatin High work with nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace — TN, Sumner Co to build 30 beds, with volunteers helping deliver and set them up.  Sumner County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Senator Joey Hensley saw the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee advance the Voluntary Portable Benefit Act to help over 510,000 independent workers get portable benefits—while separate bills provided for a $25 million Farmland Preservation Fund and confirmed the EPA as the sole authority for pesticide labeling. These measures modernized support for Tennessee workers and farmers and are expected to further secure both financial security and agricultural resources across the state.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Community members from District 6 will rally outside Congressman Rose's Gallatin office tomorrow at 1 p.m.—they protest a plan to cut Social Security Administration staff by up to 50% and close many field offices. Organizers warn that reducing in-person services will make it nearly impossible for seniors, people with disabilities and survivors to get the benefits they earned.  Hendersonville Standard

  • The Tennessee Titans will address wide receiver needs this offseason after losing a key free agent and with injuries among potential options, leaving Calvin Ridley as the only proven receiver.
