EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Tennessee State Board of Education launched its second survey round to ask for public views on the revised K-12 English Language Arts standards that set clear learning goals for students in each grade. The public feedback (until March 31, 2025) will help experts finalize changes before the new standards are used in classrooms in the 2029-30 school year. Sumner County Source

- ➤ Tennessee residents must obtain a REAL ID by May 7 if they plan to fly or access federal facilities; the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security (TDOSHS) advises applying early (to avoid processing delays) with all required documents and a scheduled appointment at a Driver Services Center. - ➤ The Titans traded linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys in a deal that sends the Cowboys’ 2025 sixth-round pick (No.188 overall) to the Titans in exchange for Murray and a 2025 seventh-round pick (239 overall). The Titans signed former Broncos linebacker Cody Barton in free agency to fill Murray’s spot. Sumner County Source
- ➤ Former Ravenwood High star Van Jefferson, who played for the Rams, Falcons and Steelers, has signed a contract with the Titans and will join the team where his father—former receivers coach Shawn Jefferson—once served. Sumner County Source
