- ➤ Legacy Village announced the hiring of Kasey Commerer as its new executive director. Commerer brings over 15 years of senior-living experience and will work to improve care for residents in Hendersonville. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ The Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America will host a pancake breakfast and silent auction Saturday, March 21 from 8-11 a.m. at Saundersville United Methodist Church (710 East Main Street) in Hendersonville to benefit Sumner veterans and their families. Hendersonville Standard
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sumner County Schools announced four students as National Merit Finalists, joining fewer than 1 percent of high school seniors to compete for over 6,900 scholarships worth nearly $26M. Winners will be announced from April through July. Hendersonville Standard
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosted a town hall in Hendersonville last month to discuss dam inspections and community questions, confirming the dams remain strong; officials added review of stormwater management comments began Feb. 14 and that the city is exploring cleanup aid for Corps property. LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Lexie (46 lb Poodle mix, $300 fee) and Butterfly (4-month-old short-haired, $125 fee) are available for adoption in Hendersonville. Both are house trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations for new pet owners. Hendersonville Standard
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Tennessee Titans unveiled their updated uniforms Thursday night at the Pinnacle for season ticketholders (including Cam Ward and Jeffery Simmons), drawing on their Oilers past with a design featuring Titans blue jerseys, red trim, and a return to a classic white helmet. - ➤ Zion Christian has begun interviewing candidates for a new football coach after coach Spoon Symlar and school administration mutually parted ways following a 3-6 season. The school expects to name a successor by the end of this month. Hendersonville Standard
