  • Newcomers and Community Members of Sumner County donated $730 + $200 from a book sale to support A Hand Up charity for local residents facing hardship, and they will host a luncheon for women at Bluegrass Country Club on March 12 at 11 a.m.  Hendersonville Standard
  • On Feb. 20, Elevate50 hosted its inaugural fundraising luncheon at Indian Lake Peninsula Church where over 100 community leaders and sponsors supported programs that connect and empower adults 50+ in Hendersonville — the event introduced the 2026 board and celebrated volunteer achievements.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Hendersonville Parks and Rec Director Andy Gilley installed a new pet microchip scanner at Memorial Park to help reunite lost pets with their owners after a local suggestion; the scanner displays each pet’s unique number that links to registration details + owner contact information.  NewsChannel 5

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Brady’s Barbershop ‘Blades and Fades’ opened its new location on Stadium Drive in Hendersonville in September 2025. Owner Brady Flores, who began his business in Lafayette + now expanded to Hendersonville, said he hopes the shop will serve as a welcoming small-town community spot.  Hendersonville Standard

CULTURE NEWS

  • Seventeen-year-old Lucas Leon from Gallatin advanced from Hollywood Week on American Idol after performing Ray Charles’ 'Georgia on My Mind' (while playing piano) on ABC. He will return to compete on Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m.  Sumner County Source
  • On Sunday, Feb. 22, Together Sumner hosted a Celebration of Legacy at First Baptist Church in Gallatin to honor 100 years of Black history with music, presentations (including homages to local historical figures) and funding for a 2026 pilgrimage; registration remains open.  Hendersonville Standard

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tree limb cleanup continues in Hendersonville after Winter Storm Fern in late January as Looks Great Services and city crews clear debris and transport it to a mulching facility at 501 Forest Retreat Road. Cleanup is expected to finish by mid-March.  Hendersonville Standard

LIFESTYLE NEWS

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Hendersonville Planning Department approved the final plan for TBN Music City Millenia Cottages at 645 East Main Street, which will offer 110 independent living units and amenities such as an exercise pool (including pickleball courts). The project will provide aging in place solutions for local seniors.  Hendersonville Standard
