- ➤ Global country music star Brad Paisley & actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley will host the fourth annual Groceries with Dignity & Comedy Without event at Zanies in Nashville on Sunday, April 19 to benefit The Store, a nonprofit that provides free groceries to families in need in Middle Tennessee. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sumner County Schools announced that students from Merrol Hyde Magnet School + Middle College High School earned National Merit finalist honors today. Less than 1 percent of high school seniors nationwide qualified for this distinction, and they now advance in a competition for over $26 million in scholarships. Sumner County Source

- ➤ TDCI and the Tennessee Attorney General's Office warn residents that LifeX Research Corporation is not licensed to sell health insurance products and advise verifying credentials (confirming agent license numbers) before sharing personal information. Sumner County Source
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Creek Wood High School wrestlers competed at the TSSAA state championships at the Williamson County Ag Expo last weekend. Gage Goetz finished fifth + Jayce McCartney came in sixth as Jed Dotson also wrestled. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ The Beech basketball team won the District 7-4A championship on Tuesday, Feb. 24 with a 67-48 victory over Lebanon as Mari Bowman scored 14 and Cutter Sisk led with 22 — marking their first district title in four years. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ A World Champion Fishing Tournament will take place from Oct. 28-Nov. 1 on Old Hickory Lake at Sanders Ferry Park with a $3 million purse, including $1.5 million for the winner. Fifty professional anglers will qualify based on standings in previous big-league bass tournaments. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Avery Bratton from Creek Wood recently participated in the Girls’ Flag Football Showcase in San Francisco and secured a win for AFC by knocking down a pass on the final play while also committing to play flag football at Cumberland University. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Gov Bill Lee signed legislation on Tuesday that allows TSSAA athletes to transfer once—effective July 1—while Executive Director Mark Reeves stated that the Association collaborated with lawmakers and did not oppose the measure. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Titans coach Robert Saleh told Will Levis (entering the final year of his rookie contract) to compete his butt off and see what happens as he remains the backup option, while the team plans to sign a third quarterback soon. Hendersonville Standard
