COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Parks Department will install new turf at three fields in Veterans Park and Field 5 at Drakes Creek Park to support local softball and baseball leagues. The upgrade, funded by the Public Safety, Infrastructure, Parks and Paving fund (about $800,000), will be completed before the spring sports season begins in February. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Longtime local hunter Larry Woody shared how his vintage Winchester 30-30—given in 1962—still reliably brings home deer in our community. He recalled memories from his first buck to recent hunts as the 60+ year old rifle remains a trusted part of our local tradition. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Hendersonville Performing Arts Company will soon present The 39 Steps, a fast-paced theatrical adventure directed by Jim Manning that adapts Alfred Hitchcock’s famed film & offers clever storytelling and physical comedy for the local community. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Following a 2024 state law, Sumner County Schools are set to implement annual gun safety education in public and charter schools starting in the 2025-26 school year. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Nashville Electric Service crews are restoring power to nearly 100 customers in Hendersonville after a utility pole caught fire, and they will continue work until service is fully restored (especially during cold weather). Sumner County Source
