- ➤ AAA reports that gas prices in Tennessee dropped by six cents on average last week, bringing prices to $2.44 per gallon—which is 15 cents lower than last month and 29 cents lower than last year—and experts expect the low rates may continue due to ample supply + lower demand. - ➤ Hendersonville High School has been chosen as the only U.S. school for the KAKEHASHI Online Exchange, connecting students from Mrs. Kondo’s Japanese language class and Japanese Club with peers at Koshigaya-Kita High School in Japan via live-streamed sessions. Sumner County Source
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported 151,490 deer were checked in this season — a drop of about 9,000 from last season. The upcoming hunt beginning in late August will allow baiting on private land with a $50 resident license while dates and bag limits remain unchanged. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Tuesday, coach Kendra Jackson reached her 300th win when Station Camp beat White House 72-23 — a milestone achieved over 17 seasons that makes her Sumner County’s winningest active girls basketball coach. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Creek Wood High School junior wrestler Gage Goetz won first place in the 132-lb class on Saturday at the Ariel-Rojas Avila Memorial Tournament at Sycamore High School — he also earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors in the 106-144 lb range. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ The Nashville Predators won four to three in overtime on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena after captain Roman Josi scored his second goal, moving the team within one point of a wild card spot. They will travel to face the Avalanche and Golden Knights later this week. Hendersonville Standard
