  • County Mayor John Isbell outlined Sumner County’s America 250 project that will feature a courthouse monument, Constitution reading on Gallatin Square, and other events — citizens are invited to join the open committee coordinating grant applications and activities across historical sites.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Reviewing last year's top stories, the Hendersonville Standard highlighted projects like the Walton Ferry road realignment scheduled for summer 2027, a nine-month moratorium on high-density housing, and a $53.6M TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center expansion — a look back at community changes as planning for 2026 unfolds.  Hendersonville Standard
  • Hendersonville Eagle Scout Lamont Martin dedicated a new Rainbow Bridge at Memorial Park on Dec. 16. The project was built over a weekend with community donations and volunteer help to honor pets that have been loved and lost, with Martin placing the first pet collar on the rail.  Hendersonville Standard

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Department of Agriculture increased cost share maximums for four TAEP programs — Genetics, Livestock Equipment, Hay Storage and Working Structures and Fenceline Systems — for the 2025-26 cycle; applicants will receive remaining notifications by Jan. 15.  Sumner County Source
