Nashville Public Library: Research & Library Skills

Join us for a hands-on learning experience with the Nashville Public Library’s Special Collections department! Students will learn how to make the most of the library as a research resource, including how to find reliable information, navigate library resources, and conduct research like a pro.

Library staff will introduce students to the tools and resources available through the library and teach them strategies for finding information, exploring primary sources, and researching topics of interest. This is a great opportunity for students to build practical research skills they can use for school projects, personal interests, and lifelong learning.

Whether your student is a seasoned researcher or just learning how to find their way around a library, this field trip will help them become more confident and capable researchers!

PARKING INFO

Patrons visiting the Main Library may park at two nearby locations for $4.99 ($4.00 discounted rate + $.99 service fee) for up to 120 minutes:

• McKendree Garage at 140 6th Ave. North (Located across the street from the Library.)

• Parking garage at 144 Rep. John Lewis Way North

Follow these instructions for the discounted rate:

• After parking, scan the QR code inside the garage to enter your phone number, license plate, and payment information.

• After entering the library, scan the second QR code located near the first-floor Circulation Desk to apply the discounted rate.

Please note: Visits exceeding 120 minutes will be charged at the standard garage rate for the full duration of parking. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
