- ➤ Dr. Tyler and Katy Beth Davis opened Davis Family Veterinary Hospital in Hendersonville on August 4th and held a ribbon cutting last month. The new clinic offers preventative, primary and surgical care for local pets (it has received strong community support since opening). Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Main Street Media owner Dave Gould spoke at a Chamber luncheon on Sept. 9 and detailed how his company grew from 3,000 subscribers to reaching 3 million people monthly. He stressed that local news is vital for community engagement and said his business will hire more reporters and open its own printing facility in the coming months—an effort supported by over 1,100 subscriber donations. - ➤ Grammy Award-winning artist Billy Strings announced he will extend his winter headline tour with two nights at Bridgestone Arena and an exclusive lottery show at Ryman Auditorium, available only to fans who purchase a Bridgestone ticket. - ➤ Hendersonville Performing Arts Company presents Agatha Christie’s Go Back for Murder, a mystery play directed by Allison Echols that started today and will run through Oct. 4 with 7:30 p.m. shows on weekdays and 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays—tickets are available at HPAC. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Hendersonville launched an Adopt-a-Cemetery initiative that lets community groups care for six large unowned cemeteries and about 15 smaller sites; Mayor Jamie Clary said volunteers, including two organizations and eight individuals, have stepped forward and work will begin in spring 2026—this program is meant to preserve historic grave sites—. - ➤ Funeral arrangements have been announced for Sumner County Deputy Jerry Soares who passed away unexpectedly on September 15 while on duty in Gallatin — his patrol vehicle is placed at the Sheriff’s Office for tributes. A visitation will be held on September 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12 p.m. at Gallatin High School. Sumner County Source
- ➤ Hendersonville Parks and Recreation signed a 25-year lease with the Army Corps of Engineers to secure park access for areas including Drakes Creek Park—officials said the agreement ensures current grant eligibility and future savings in park upkeep. - ➤ A local letter—authored by Jim Timmie—argues that Sumner County’s problems like poor road maintenance, long train tracks and limited library hours call for term limits for county commissioners. - ➤ Local officials completed the Local Government Leadership Program offered by UT’s Naifeh Center in Franklin.
