- ➤ The Tennessee Higher Education Commission announced that over 40 colleges and universities are waiving application fees for students during September as part of Tennessee College Application and Exploration Month—this effort encourages all students to begin their applications early and high school seniors to apply for the Tennessee Promise scholarship before its November 3 deadline. - ➤ Robert Little from the Creekwood subdivision said cars were clocked at 58 mph in a 30 mph zone and urged city officials to lower the speed limit, install speed bumps, and mark a five-foot pedestrian right of way—residents worry that increasing traffic and more children in the area could lead to greater risks. Public Works staff and an alderman have evaluated Creekwood Lane and will make recommendations following federal guidelines. NewsChannel 5

- ➤ The TSSAA released the Week 5 high school football schedule that shows games on Sept 19 in 10 counties—Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson—with matchups like Hunters Lane at Hendersonville and live scoreboard updates available on game night. - ➤ The 2026 Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway has been moved from the IndyCar season finale to July 19 and is set as the 12th race on the 17-race schedule—race founder Scott Borchetta said more details will follow.
