- ➤ Puckett’s Restaurant has launched a summer program—Puckett’s Love: Feed the Community—to donate nearly 4,000 free meals to children at local nonprofit organizations including one in Hendersonville. - ➤ The Hendersonville Standard won eight awards at the Tennessee Press Association’s journalism awards ceremony held in Memphis on June 28 — it earned second place in Public Service for its detailed coverage of the 2024 city elections. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ The Knights of Columbus will hold their 36th annual BRASS bike ride on July 19 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Hendersonville—offering ride distances of 6K, 12.5K, 25K, 50K and 100K for all skill levels. Pre-registration is available until July 12 with rides starting at 7 a.m. for the 50K and 100K routes and 7:05 a.m. for the others. Hendersonville Standard
- ➤ Barbara Fleming (born in 1922) from Park Place Retirement Community in Hendersonville celebrated her 103rd birthday in June with family and friends. - ➤ Hendersonville firefighters rushed to a house fire on Lake Terrace Drive Sunday morning, June 29, where Engine 24 used a thermal imaging camera to locate a female victim 25 feet inside, and Sumner County EMS treated her for smoke inhalation—fire officials said the fire began in the kitchen. - ➤ A Hendersonville doctor Xuhan Zhang—also known as Sheila Zhang, age 62—and her office manager husband Jin Qi Mei, 65, were indicted on charges related to healthcare fraud and illegal drug diversion schemes linked to a nationwide investigation. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Hendersonville Police Department Assistant Chief Scott Ryan retired after 31 years of service and is honored for his work in community outreach—while Fire Department Training Chief Westley Patrick ended 33 years of service with the city and is remembered for mentoring new firefighters. - ➤ The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on July 11—from 9-11 p.m.—on State Highway 25 near Barry Lane in Sumner County to screen drivers for signs of alcohol impairment. Hendersonville Standard

- ➤ Fast Pace Health announced that it will open a new walk-in urgent care clinic at 255 East Main Street to serve Hendersonville and nearby Sumner County residents with extended weekday and weekend hours *offering exam rooms, on-site labs, x-ray services and prescription options*. - ➤ Officials broke ground on Tuesday, June 24—at the site of the 1978 clinic—for a new 6,000-square foot health department facility in Hendersonville that will offer primary care, school immunizations, vital records, and nutritional education; construction is set to finish in June 2026.
