Details:
Join our group at SoundWaves Gaylord Opryland for a fun-filled water day. Participants have the option of participating in a 20-minute educational program that is both informative and hands-on. Once the educational component is complete, families are welcome to explore and enjoy the 4-acre indoor water experience at their leisure. The educational component will include an educational lesson on sun safety, water safety, proper hydration, and a water chemistry test. Participants will surely enjoy their time exploring the indoor water experience including indoor rides, Groovin’ Lagoon Activity Pool, Crowd Surfer, and much more. Only the indoor water area is guaranteed to be open for this event. Below are some additional details that may be helpful for this field trip.
• Lockers are available to rent for a nominal fee
• Students 15 years and younger must have an adult close by in the area (this is not a drop-off event, an adult must remain on site)
• SoundWaves wristband must be worn at all times
• The wristbands our group will wear allow individuals to come and go from the park from 10 am until 2 pm
• Coolers and outside food and beverages are not allowed (bag inspection will take place at the entrance)
• SoundWaves offers a comprehensive menu of food and beverages available for purchase. Guests will be allowed to bring one unopened plastic water bottle (20oz or smaller) per person.
• Only Coast Guard approved life jackets are allowed, and no other flotation devices
• Guests who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper
• No running, boisterous or rough play, on the decks, floats, platforms or dressing rooms, shower rooms, etc.
• Towels are provided upon entering SoundWaves. You may wish to bring your own beach towel since the provided towels will remain in the water attraction area.
• Lifeguards are on duty at each attraction at SoundWaves. Lifeguards are trained in CPR and First Aid
• The state-of-the-art roofing system at SoundWaves does allow UV rays into the facility year-round. Applying sunscreen is encouraged
• A limited number of umbrellas are available in the indoor facilities on a first-come, first-served basis
• One or two-piece bathing suits for females and swim trunks for males are required; cutoffs and thong swimwear are not permitted. Aqua socks are recommended. Cover-ups, shirts, and shoes are required in all resort public areas outside of SoundWaves.
Parking in this area can be a bit tricky and expensive. Families are welcome to park at the mall for free and walk over or pay a discounted parking fee of $14 plus tax per vehicle to park at Gaylord Hotel (Magnolia parking lot only). Magnolia is the closest parking lot to SoundWaves. Those who choose to park on-site must reserve a parking sticker when securing tickets. Stickers will be provided with wristbands at check-in. Stickers must be placed on the parking pass that the machine provided you when pulling into the parking lot. Individuals will pay for parking upon exiting the parking lot (parking fees will not be collected on this site).
Families interested in the educational component will check in with me at 9:30am, those interested in passing on the educational component are asked to arrive by 9:45 am to check in with me. Our field trip is scheduled to begin at 10 am and families are welcome to remain on site until SoundWaves closes at 2 pm.
