About this event

Nashville Women’s Drum Collective!

Empowering Women's Voices With Rhythm, Connection & Community

Join us for the next gathering of the Nashville Women’s Drum Collective . This is for all women who drum and all of the women who yearn to drum. This is a community connecting point where drummers of various styles unite with the opportunity to learn and engage, hold space for each other, listen and hear each other‘s voices and honor the rhythm that is uniquely contained within each human being and body.

This is a time and space for women to hold as sacred and to recognize the power that we hold. In our voices and in our ability to reconnect with nature and nurture the way forward for our families, communities, and the world.

Our sacred space is being gently guided and facilitated by Karen-Renée, MonAxi, & Nesrin . Four women who are committed to helping women rise through the power of their voice, rhythm and innate beauty.

WHAT TO BRING: ~ Your own drum (any kind that you enjoy playing). If you don't have a drum, there will be plenty available for you to use during the gathering.

~ A water vessel so that you can stay hydrated throughout the evening.

~ Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.

~ Journal & pen if you want to write down something from your experience.

There will also be opportunities to purchase drums if you feel moved to. There will never be any pressure to do so.

Cost: Sliding Scale - pay what you can ($22-$44 + processing fee)

Space is available for 22 participants

We want to make sure it is accessible for as many women as possible. If for some reason you need financial assistance, please reach out to Karen-Renée, MonAxi, or Nesrin for more information.

MonÁxi - a name that means “Daughter of the Earth” in Kimbundu, a dialect from Angola, her ancestral homeland - is a Lisbon-born artist whose music is rooted in deep cultural lineage and soul-stirring intention. Like a sacred tree, her sound draws nourishment from the rich soil of Angola while branching out through the Iberian Peninsula, Brazil, and North America, blossoming into a vibrant fusion of unexpected rhythms and emotional resonance.

For over two decades, MonÁxi has captivated audiences with her powerful vocals and the primal heartbeat through the Djembé drum, composing and producing her own songs. Since stepping onto the Medicine Path ten years ago, her music has become a vehicle for profound healing. Whether through Healing Medicine Ceremonies, Sound Journeys, or high-energy concerts where people can sweat their prayers, MonÁxi holds space with reverence and depth.

In addition to her performances, MonÁxi offers private concerts for sacred gatherings and special events, as well as one-on-one mentorship in Vocal Activation, Intuitive Djembé Drumming, and Loop Station artistry.
