Drew Ryder Smith and Dave Doobinin bring a special co-bill to the Lounge at City Winery Nashville for a personalized night of storytelling. Drew was born and raised between Nashville and Muscle Shoals and grew up with the music of artists like John Prine, Don Williams, Merle Haggard, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others. He wrote his first song at 12 years old then started his career in radio at just 14 years old. Since then, he’s become an award-winning songwriter and touring musician. His songs have been recorded by legends like Merle Haggard, Randy Houser, Rob Snyder, Gord Bamford, and more. He names opening for Merle Haggard at The Ryman as one of the highlights of his career. Dave writes songs that feel lived-in. His work sits comfortably at the intersection of Americana, folk, country, and singer-songwriter traditions, influenced by Elliott Smith and The Replacements. He’s known for his lyrical depth and conversational storytelling, writing songs filled with heart, rust, hard-earned wisdom, and the kinds of details that make listeners stop and think, “I’ve felt that too.” His goal is to remind listeners that they are not alone in their joys, struggles, questions, and hopes.
